![]() Regardless of the newly added space in the bathroom, we were still able to complete this project without hindering the space in the bedroom behind it. The final layout included building out the wall of the bathroom in order to add some square footage for larger shower. The various Bellweather teams worked together to come up with a floor plan to best fit the design and functionality of the bathroom. So, our design and construction team needed to great creative! Yet, in order to incorporate all of these key bathroom elements, we needed more space for our new shower and tub combination. ![]() In the kids’ bathroom, our plans included updating the shower-tub combo, new tile, replacing the vanity, as well as added custom built-in storage. The Bellweather team worked the designs around features like the unique radiators, craftsman style woodwork, detailed window casings as well as doors that are original to the home. To do this, we wanted to incorporate many of the original finishes of the home. Our challenge was to combine the colonial craftsmanship and classic design with a tranquil and luxurious bathroom aesthetic. While the family was passionate about updating the bathrooms, they were torn as how to keep the original architectural details within the updated bathroom designs. This stunning home is complete with much of the original stunning wood work. The owners of this historic Center Hall Georgian Colonial home came t o us to update their Jack and Jill bathroom as well as their primary bath. Exploring Options to Honor Original Architecture For this project, the Bellweather Design-Build team needed to modernize and expand this Jack and Jill bathroom to accommodate a growing family. Yet, as homeowners look to update their kid's bathrooms, many require a new design and layout to fit today's family and lifestyle. This 1970's bathroom concept can be found in many old, historic homes in Philly. Jack and Jill bathrooms allow guests from two separate bedrooms to conveniently access the same bathroom.
